I have another Old Army just like it..the serial numbers are only off by 35, they are that close…yet each and every revolver can vary just a little bit. With my digital caliper, I figured that the cylinder you sent me was 2.1545 inch…and it barely fits in my other revolver..so I measured the cylinder in the other and came up with 2.1530! So I suppose that it is .0015 inch smaller, can you imagine? That little bit is all it takes, so I wondered…do you folks…or could you make that adjustment to those cylinder specifications? And if so, that would be awesome, as I am definitely interested in buying a fluted .45 long Colt cylinder of those dimensions for my other revolver. Thank you very much.”

“Excellent product and priced right. Makes for quick cylinder removal and changes on my 1858 and I recommend it to anyone shortening a barrel or just looking for rapid cylinder removal. With the Howell cylinder release, I can swap cylinders as fast as using a speed loader on a cartridge gun. This dropped right into my Pietta and, while a little fitting might have helped (it’s an older pre-CNC gun), I just worked it until it broke in nice and smooth. The price is about right because it takes a little time to make your own cylinder pin release and unless you’re a professional machinist, this is worth the time savings and being a mostly drop-in part. Howell had excellent service, too, and shipped this super fast. “
